It's been one month since I started this English diary on Hatena blog. I couldn't imagine that I would be able to achieve this 30 days blog challenge, but surprisingly, I did it! So today, I want to celebrate my achievement with all of you. Let's look back at my blog together and see what happened in 30 days.
I started this English diary without any commercial promotion. Only one thing what I'd been doing at the beginning was to share the post to Hatena Space. Everytime I published a new post, I shared it on the communicty there.
Originally, I only had two categories on this blog; 1. recommended tips for learning English and 2. the reasons why I learn English. However, soon I started struggling to find a new topic to write about. So I added another category to introduce Japanese cultures from my point of view.
On the day 11, I found myself facsinated with blogging in English. The fact is, thanks to blogging every day, I had no choice but needed to read a lot in English for finding an interesting topic to write about. Meanwhile, I had discovered so many beautiful, helpful, fantastic websites that gave me tons of inspirations, and they accordingly encouraged me to continue giving advice to people in Japan.
Starting from day 18, my blog has a certain amount of traffic from English blog community of Nihon Blog Mura. Here I can also check what other people write on their English related blogs, but what I do is basically very simple; when my blog is updated I always visit to Nihon Blog Mura and notify it of my new post. The main benefit of doing this for me is that it can attract some people who write/read other blogs that talk about English related topics.
On the day 24, my blog was featured as one of the hot blogs on Hatena blog. I don't know why and how my blog was chosen but it gave my blog a ray of hope because there were not so many readers until then. For your information, subscribers to my blog at that time was just 11.
After my blog was featured as a hot blog, the number of visitors and subscribers to my blog continuously increased. Today, there are more than 100 visitors every day and so far I've got 48 subscribers on Hatena blog. Thank you very much! I'm delighted to continue writing on this English diary blog.
Thinking about the current English education system in Japan, I would like my readers to learn what are the tendency of ESL learners in Japan and its difference between other countries. Here are the recommendations for you to read.
Well, that's all for today. Thank you always for reading my English blog. I'm really grateful for your support. See you next time!
